VOLUNTEERING

The 100 Black Men of America is one of the fastest growing community service organizations in the United States with over 116 chapters globally. 

 

Our national membership consists of more than 10,000 Black men who mentor over 100,000 kids. 

 

The 100 Black Men of Phoenix organization believes it should have an active leadership role in helping minority youth become contributing, competitive, and valued members of society. We are "Real Men Giving Real Time".

If you are interested in making a difference in our community and are willing to contribute your time, treasure, and talents to the 100 Black Men of Phoenix, we would welcome the opportunity to consider your membership

STUDENTS

Our programs focus on students by building essential skills needed to become productive, contributing citizens. 

 

Workshops for children and youth include topics such as: 

  • Positive Self Identity and Personal Vision 

  • Life Skills 

  • Social and Emotional Skills 

  • Moral Character 

  • Work Ethic 

  • Lifelong Learning 

 

Mentoring the 100 Way uses three different techniques: 

  • 1:1 Mentoring 

  • Group Mentoring 

  • Tag Team Mentoring 

 

All techniques focus on being S.M.A.R.T. 

  • Specific: Specific and clearly defined mentoring population 

  • Measurable: Measure and evaluate effectiveness 

  • Attainable: Setting goals that are attainable for the children and mentors 

  • Realistic: Goals should be realistic (makes sense to the mentee) 

  • Target Driven: The chapter should have a set target of pursuit
